JBDI holds a leading position in Singapore’s reconditioned container market, representing roughly one third of the industry’s revenue in 2021. It competes with other established players such as Global Barrels Industries Pte Ltd and Hock Ann Seng Industries Pte Ltd. The company’s competitive advantages derive from its four decade track record, ISO 9001 accreditation for drum reconditioning since 2008, an in house skilled workforce and owned facilities that enable full control of the reconditioning process, and long standing relationships with key suppliers and customers. The top five customers together account for approximately 26.5% of revenue in the financial year ended May 31 2025 and 30% in the financial year ended May 31 2024, with the largest single customer contributing about 14.9% of revenue in each of those years. A notable specific customer is Liquinex Group Pte Ltd, which contracts JBDI’s wastewater treatment services for its solar panel manufacturing operations. Many of these customers have maintained business relationships with JBDI for over 15 years on average, and several also act as suppliers of used containers.
