The acquired sites include a greenfield project in Campagnatico and two brownfield projects at Casalino and Campopiano which are currently permitted for electricity generation. While the assets await upgrading to biomethane they continue to generate electricity that is sold to the local state owned utility Gestore dei Servizi Energetici SpA. The company plans to install off the shelf biogas upgrading units at each site to convert raw biogas into pipeline quality biomethane. Once upgraded the renewable natural gas will be injected into the Snam transmission system for sale to utilities industrial users and other market participants.
