The company operates through the following segments: Fuel Distribution, Pipeline Systems, Terminals, and Refinery.

• Fuel Distribution: The Fuel Distribution segment distributes motor fuels and other petroleum products such as marine fuel, aviation fuel, propane and lubricating oil to approximately 9,200 independent dealer and distributor locations, 1,300 commission agent sites, 330 company operated convenience retail stores and over 13,000 commercial customers; it also earns revenue from credit card services, franchise royalties and rental income from leased properties.
• Pipeline Systems: The Pipeline Systems segment owns and operates roughly 6,000 miles of refined product pipeline, 6,000 miles of crude oil pipeline and 2,000 miles of ammonia pipeline, supported by 69 terminals, and includes interests in J. C. Nolan for diesel storage and transport and in ET S Permian for crude oil gathering and storage exceeding 11 million barrels.
• Terminals: The Terminals segment operates four transmix processing facilities and 83 terminals located in 2 locations in Europe, 6 in Hawaii, 9 in Canada, 13 in the Greater Caribbean and 53 in the continental United States, providing storage and distribution services for its own fuel directed business and for third party customers.
• Refinery: The Refinery segment includes the Burnaby Refinery with an operational capacity of approximately 55,000 barrels per day, processing sweet conventional and synthetic crude oil to produce gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, and the company holds a 29% interest in the SARA refinery located in Martinique which supplies refined product to Guadeloupe, French Guiana and Martinique.

In the Fuel Distribution segment, SunocoCorp competes with numerous independent motor fuel distributors in a highly fragmented market where price, service quality and brand availability are key factors. The Pipeline Systems segment faces competition from common carrier and proprietary pipelines operated by major integrated and large independent oil companies, with competition centered on transportation charges, service reliability and proximity to end users. The Terminals segment contends with both major energy and chemical companies as well as independent terminal operators, differentiating itself through location advantages, versatile storage capabilities and competitive pricing. The Refinery segment, anchored by the Burnaby facility, competes with other refineries owned by major energy companies, primarily on the basis of transportation costs, supply reliability and geographic proximity to customers. SunocoCorp’s relationship with Energy Transfer, which owns its general partner and a significant equity stake, provides strategic support for growth initiatives and access to capital.

SunocoCorp serves a diverse customer base that includes independent fuel dealers and distributors, commission agent operators, company operated convenience retail outlets, municipalities, industrial users and a broad range of commercial businesses that purchase motor fuel, lubricants and other petroleum products.
