Ranked on one-day percentage change across US-listed equities above $5 and $2B market cap, so the list stays free of microcaps and low-priced shells. About this ranking

How are the top stock losers calculated?

Every US-listed equity trading above $5 with a market capitalisation above $2 billion is ranked by its percentage decline from the previous session's close. The floor on price and size keeps the list free of microcaps and low-priced shells.

How often does this list update?

Every two minutes while the US market is open. The page refreshes itself in place, and cells whose value actually changed flash briefly so you can see what moved without re-reading the table.

Is a large one-day drop a buying opportunity?

Not on its own. The 1M and YTD columns are there for exactly this: a name down 15% today after a flat year is a different proposition from one down 15% today at the end of a long decline. What changed in the business matters more than the size of the candle.

What drives most large single-day declines?

Missed earnings and cut guidance, failed trials or regulatory setbacks, funding and dilution announcements, downgrades, and index removal. Heavy volume alongside the fall suggests conviction rather than a thin tape.
