Earnings Call Transcripts API
Retrieve the full text of any company's earnings call — the CEO and CFO's prepared remarks and the complete analyst Q&A — as clean, speaker-labelled plain text in a single JSON response. The API covers about 39,800 calls from more than 3,600 US-listed companies, from April 2019 to date, and adds new calls daily. Ask for a company by ticker or CIK, pick a quarter with fyq=Q2 2023 or leave it out for the latest call, and every response lists the quarters on file so you never have to guess. The text is ready for sentiment analysis, keyword tracking and LLM summarisation. The API is free to use.

1. Request Parameters
Provide an API key and exactly one identifier — ticker or CIK. A ticker is resolved to the company's CIK first, so every share class of the same issuer returns the same calls. Add fyq to pick a quarter; without it you get the most recent call.

Errors
| Status | When |
|---|---|
| 400 | No identifier, both ticker and cik given, or a non-numeric cik. |
| 404 | The ticker or CIK is not a supported security, or the requested fyq is not on file. The fyq error lists the available quarters, e.g. "No transcript for Q2 2018. Available: Q3 2026, Q2 2026, …". |
| 200, empty | A supported company with no calls on file returns an empty data array and a metadata.message — not an error. |

Frequently Asked Questions
How many earnings call transcripts does the API cover?
About 39,800 earnings calls from more than 3,600 US-listed companies, from April 2019 to date. New calls are added daily.
How do I get the transcript for a specific quarter?
Pass the fiscal quarter in the fyq parameter, for example fyq=Q2 2023. Leave it out to get the latest call. Every response lists all the quarters on file for that company in metadata.available_fyq, newest first. Asking for a quarter that is not on file returns a 404 that lists the available quarters.
Does the transcript include the analyst Q&A?
Yes. The transcript field holds the whole call, prepared remarks and the question-and-answer session, as speaker-labelled turns: each turn starts with the speaker's name on its own line, followed by what they said. The participants array lists the company's executives with their roles. Analysts appear by name as speakers in the Q&A text.
Why do two share classes return the same transcripts?
A ticker is resolved to the company's SEC CIK before the transcripts are looked up, so every share class of the same issuer (for example GOOGL and GOOG) returns the same calls.
Can I use the transcripts with ChatGPT, Claude or another LLM?
Yes. The text is clean plain text, typically 40,000 to 70,000 characters per call. You can pass it to any LLM yourself, or connect the Business Quant MCP server, which gives AI assistants an earnings call transcript tool that pages long calls automatically.
Is the Earnings Call Transcripts API free to use?
Yes. The endpoint is available on every plan, including the Free plan, which allows 40 requests per day. Sign up for an API key to start pulling transcripts immediately.
