Brazilian Electric Power Company, also known as Eletrobras, operates in the electricity generation and transmission industry with the ticker symbol EBR. Established in 1962, Eletrobras has grown to become one of the largest electricity companies in Brazil, contributing approximately 22% of the country's installed power generating capacity.

Eletrobras' main business activities involve electricity generation, transmission, and distribution. The company operates in four regional subsidiaries, Eletropar, and 69 special-purpose entities (SPEs), which are grouped into 35 clusters and non-controlling interests in 19 companies. Eletrobras is responsible for approximately 22% of the installed capacity and 38% of the installed transmission lines above 230 kV in Brazil.

As part of the privatization process, the company underwent a corporate restructuring, which included the transfer of control of Eletronuclear and Itaipu to ENBPar, a state-owned company. The restructuring also involved the transfer of management of several government programs, including Proinfa, Procel, RGR Fund, Luz para Todos, and Mais Luz para a Amazônia, to ENBPar.
