This statistic highlights Server Shipments by Vendors, across Dell, Lenovo, Inspur, IBM and Hewlett Packard (or HP), reported on a quarterly basis from Q1 2008 onwards.
Dell shipped a total of 479,942 units in the second quarter of FY 2019. This was a 7.17% drop from the previous quarter and a 16.81% fall from the second quarter of the previous fiscal year. Since Q1 FY 2018, the company shipped the most servers during Q4 FY 2018 of 580,600 units.
Since the first quarter of FY 2018, the shipments of Hewlett Packard Enterprise have been following a pattern of rise in one quarter, followed by a dip in the subsequent quarter. The most significant dip during this period took place in Q1 FY 2019 when the number of servers shipped were 67,800 units less compared to Q4 FY 2018.
After a YoY uptrend in server shipments volume since the second quarter of FY 2016, Huawei dropped its shipments to 116,994 in the second quarter of FY 2019. This figure is a 37.55% decline from the 187,356 units shipped in Q2 FY 2018, which also happened to be the maximum shipment for the company during a second quarter.

China based Inspur Electronics had a 16.13% jump in shipment volume from the first to the second quarter of FY 2018. This growth declined to 13.66% from the first to the second quarter of the current fiscal year.
Lenovo also faced a tremendous growth from the first to the second quarter of fiscal year 2018. This amounted to 74.97%, landing at 224,138 units in Q2. From Q4 FY 2018 to Q1 FY 2019, the company’s volume of server shipments plunged by 34.19% to 125,500 units. However, Lenovo soon picked up by 44.36% from Q1 to Q2 FY 2019.
The server shipments of Super Micro increased by 12.10% from the first to the second quarter of FY 2018. From there, the company witnessed a marginal fall of 3.31% in the third quarter to 169,300 units. In each of the first two quarters of fiscal year 2019, the company shipped under 140,000 units.
