This statistic highlights Ford’s Revenue by Region, reported annually from the year 2010 onwards.

Ford Motor Company is an American automaker and provides its products and services globally. They manufacture and sell trucks, cars, SUVs, and luxury vehicles.  Ford is one of the pioneers in the automobile industry. Their business can be divided into four segments:

Automotive – This segment primarily deals with the sale of cars under the brand names Ford and Lincoln. They manufacture and design cars as well. Some of their cars are Ford Fiesta, Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, Lincoln Navigator, Lincoln Continental, etc. This segment has operations in almost all the major countries of the world.

Central Treasury Operations – This segment deals with decisions regarding risks, investments, and financing for the automotive segment. Interest income and expense, gains and losses on cash equivalents and marketable securities, and foreign exchange derivatives associated with company lending are included in the results of Central Treasury Operations

Financial Services – This segment is concerned with vehicle-related financing and leasing activities. The company’s subsidiary Ford Credit forms a part of this segment. Ford Credit business consists of financing it’s vehicles and supporting their dealers. They offer financial products to and through automobile dealers worldwide.

Ford Smart Mobility – This segment deals with activities that help in design, growth, and investments in emerging mobility services.

The majority of the revenue comes from the automotive sector and the remaining 7-8% of the revenue is from the other segments. Ford’s revenue decreased by 3% from the previous year to $155.9 billion in 2019. More than 50% of Ford’s revenue comes from its operations in the United States. Other major regions that contribute to revenue are Canada with 6% of the total contribution, Germany with 4%, the UK with 6% and the rest is covered by the other countries that Ford serves. Revenue dropped from $146.92 million in 2013 to $143.9 in 2014, after which Revenue for Ford has been increasing since 2014 from $143.9 billion in 2014 to $149.56 in 2015 to $151.8 billion in 2016, $157.2 million in 2017 and then $160.33 million in 2018. Ford’s revenue has grown by almost 11.3% over the 5-year period.

In 2018 the revenue from $10.54 billion which increased marginally to $10.86 billion in 2019. Revenue from Germany was $7.89 billion in 2018 and increased to $7.93 billion in 2019. The revenue from the U.S also increased from $97.55 billion in 2018 to 98.73 billion in 2019. The decrease in total revenue can be attributed to two other regions. The revenue from the UK dropped $9.70 billion in 2018 to $8.90 billion in 2018. The major downfall in revenue was from Ford’s operations in other countries. Revenue from other countries decreased to $29.49 billion in 2019 from $34.65 billion in the previous year.

Revenue from operations in other countries has been declining since 2017. This is because Ford is losing market share in these countries. Even though the revenue from operations in the U.S and Germany has been increasing year on year, it is not enough to compensate for the decline in the revenue from U.K and other countries.
