This article discusses the stats on Facebook Revenue Mix by Device in 2020. The digital advertising ad revenue earned from mobile and desktops devices depends on several factors such as device’s traffic sourcing ability, total time-on-site spent by users, ad-block rates and the accuracy of location tracking.
Tracking the ad revenue generated from mobile and laptop would help Facebook to direct its advertisement income in a more focused manner.
From 2011 to Q3 FY 2012, Facebook earned all of its advertising revenues from desktops. In the third quarter of FY 2019, desktops generated only 6% of ad revenues. This is the lowest figure recorded till date.
Following a downtrend since Q4 FY 2012, there was a small surge in laptop revenues during the last quarter of FY 2013. However, this did not last as it was soon succeeded by a 14% decline QoQ in Q1 FY 2014. Â During the same quarter, the mobile segment grabbed over 50% of the total ad revenues.
One year hence, Facebook’s mobile revenues had its highest-ever YoY increase of 14% in the first quarter of FY 2015. Post a period of coasting between 80-90% for 8 consecutive quarters, ad revenues from mobile devices stood at 91% in the first quarter of FY 2018.  In the third quarter of FY 2019, mobile advertising revenues accounted for 94% of the total ad revenues.
