Enbridge’s total revenue grew from $10.01 billion in Q4 2020 to $12.47 billion in Q4 2021, marking an increase of 24.58% or $2.46 billion on a year on year basis. Quarterly, the company’s total revenue rose from $11.47 billion in Q3 2021 to $12.47 million in Q4 2021, projecting an incline of 8.72% or $1 billion.

Enbridge’s revenue can be further bifurcated into the following segments:

Energy Services

The majority of Enbridge’s revenue is generated through this segment, accounting for 54.92% of the company’s revenue in Q4 2021, amounting to $6.85 billion. It grew by 57.83% or $2.51 billion yearly, as compared to $4.34 billion earned in Q4 2020. However, it decreased by 6.04% or $0.44 billion quarterly, as compared to $7.29 billion in Q3 2021.

Gas Distribution

The revenue generated from this segment accounts for 12.17% of total revenue in Q4 2021. There was a decline in the revenue of this segment from $1.36 billion in Q4 2020 to $0.69 billion in Q3 2021 projecting a decline of 49.26% or $0.67 billion. Further, the revenue grew from $0.69 billion in Q3 2021 to $1.52 billion in Q4 2021 making an increment of 120.29% or $0.83 billion on a quarterly basis. Yearly, the revenue witnessed a slight growth of 11.76%.

Gas Transmission and Midstream

The company’s revenue from the gas transmission and midstream segment accounts for 9.70% of the total revenue in Q4 2021. The revenue grew up from $1.15 billion in Q4 2020 to $1.21 billion in Q4 2021, making an increase of 5.22% or $0.06 billion in a year. Quarterly, the company achieved a growth of 4.31% or $0.05 billion, from $1.16 billion in Q3 2021 to $1.21 billion in Q4 2021.

Liquids Pipelines

This segment contributes 23.78% to the total revenue in Q4 2021. The company’s revenue from this segment decreased from $3.17 billion in Q4 2020 to $2.37 billion in Q3 2021, making a decline of 25.24% or $0.8 billion. There was a slight recovery in the revenue from $2.37 billion in Q3 2021 to $2.97 billion in Q4 2021, setting a rise of 25.32% or $0.6 billion on a quarterly basis. Yearly,  the revenue fell by 6.3%.

Renewable Power Generation and Transmission

This segment accounts for 0.73% of the whole revenue generated in Q4 2021. Enbridge’s revenue from this segment witnessed a constant fall from $0.16 billion in Q4 2020 to $0.12 billion in Q3 2021, setting a decline of 25% or $0.04 billion. The revenue further decreased from $0.12 billion in Q3 2021 to $0.09 billion in Q4 2021, projecting a further fall of 25% or $0.03 billion on a quarterly basis. Yearly, the revenue witnessed a fall of 43.75%.

Elimination and Other

Operating and administrative costs, as well as the impact of foreign exchange hedge settlements, are included in Eliminations and Other, which are not assigned to business sectors. The impact of new business development activities and corporate investments is also included in the Eliminations and Other categories.

The eliminations and other segments increased from -0.17 billion in Q4 2020 to -0.16 billion in Q3 2021, projecting a rise of 5.88% ($0.01 billion). This remains constant in Q4 2021 amounting to -0.16 billion.
