Recently, it introduced Discovery+. Discovery+ is an OTT video streaming platform; its main focus is on factual programming, which is drawn through the libraries of Discovery. It is a subscription-based channel through which the company charges premium fees. It was first launched in India in the year 2020, and in January 2021, it was launched in more than 20 countries. Discovery Kids, Animal Planet, TLC, HGTV, Discovery Education, Eurosport, TVN Group, and more are the subsidiaries of Discovery Inc. Discovery faces stiff competition from The Walt Disney Company, Comcast Corp.’s, DISH Network Corp. (DISH), Phoenix New Media Ltd. (FENG), and ViacomCBS Inc.
