The asset base of the company, inter alia, mainly comprises of the following assets: –
Card Member loans, which are recorded at the time a Card Member enters into a point-of-sale transaction with a merchant and represent revolving amounts due on lending card products, as well as amounts due from charge Card Members who utilize the Pay Over Time feature on their account.
Card Member receivables, which are recorded at the time a Card Member enters into a point-of-sale transaction with a merchant and represent amounts due on charge card products.
Investment securities are primarily available-for-sale debt instruments that are held at fair value on the Consolidated Balance Sheets.
Other loans, which are recorded when a consumer or commercial customer receives a credit extension for non-card financing products.
Interest rates, fees, and repayment periods are all set in stone with these loans.
Apart from the above-stated assets, the company also owns Cash & Cash Equivalents (including short-term investment securities & interest-bearing deposits with other banks). It also has premises and equipment as reduced by depreciation and amortization and other assets as reduced by reserves for credit losses, depicted in the financials of the company. Also, a major portion of the company’s assets is in the form of credits

U.S. Region
The total assets in the U.S. saw a continuous increase. The amount of assets rose from $138.45 Billion in 2018 to $146.91 Billion in 2019, an increase of 6.11%. Also, the assets increased to $155.53 Billion by the end of 2020, showing an increase of 5.86%. Share of Assets in U.S. Regions accounts for 81.8% of the total assets of the company across the globe.
Non-U.S. Region
The total assets in Non-U.S, Region amounted to $44.37 Billion in 2018. The amount of assets raised to $47.46 Billion in 2019 i.e. an increase of approximately 7%. However, by the end of 2020, the figures declined to $34.55 Billion, a massive decline of 27.2% ($ 12.91 Billion). Share of Assets in Non-U.S. Regions account for 18.2% of the total assets of the company across the globe.
