TJX Companies’ total revenue increased from $6.67 billion in Q2 2021 to $12.08 billion in Q2 2022, marking a growth of 81.11% ($5.41 billion) in a year. Compared quarterly, the company’s revenue increased from $10.09 billion in Q1 2022 to $12.08 billion in Q2 2022, setting an increment of 19.72% ($1.99 billion).

TJX Companies revenue is further bifurcated into the following segments:

HomeGoods

HomeGoods is a flagship brand of TJX company, introduced in 1992 and operating in the United States. It has both standalone and superstore formats and also provides an e-commerce website for customers. HomeGoods offers ever-changing products such as furniture, rugs, lighting, furniture, decorations, tabletops, and cookware.

TJX company’s revenue from the HomeGoods segment increased by 67.74% in Q2 2022 on a YOY basis, from $1.24 billion in Q2 2021. However, the revenue decreased from $2.14 billion in Q1 2022 to $2.08 billion in Q2 2022, making a downfall of 2.8% ($0.06 billion). HomeGoods accounts for 17.25% of the whole revenue generated in Q2 2022.

Marmaxx

T.J.Maxx along with Marshalls in the U.S. forms Marmaxx. It was founded in 1976 and is the largest off-price apparel and home fashion retailer in the United States, having stores across the country, including Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. T.J. Maxx makes itself different from marshalls by having an extended range of fine jewelry and accessories and also operates an e-commerce site.

The majority of TJX companies revenue is generated through the Marmaxx flagship brand accounting for 60.85% of the company’s revenue in Q2 2022, amounting to $7.35 billion. In the latest quarter it grew by 85.61% compared to $3.96 billion earned in Q2 2021 and 10.69% compared to $6.64 billion in Q1 2022.

TJX Canada

HomeSense introduced the concept of off-price home fashion in Canada in 2001. This chain works in both standalone and superstore formats that combine HomeSense with the Marshalls and Winners stores. Canada’s HomeSense along with winners and Marshall. forms TJX Canada.

In Q2 2022, TJX Canada’s revenue stood at $1.02  billion. It increased by 72.88% compared to $0.59 billion in Q2 2021 and 32.47% compared to $0.77 billion in Q1 2022. This segment accounts for 8.46% of the company’s revenue in Q2 2022.

TJX international

TJX international comprises TK Maxx and HomeSense in different countries including the UK, Ireland, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, and many other countries. T.K. Maxx introduced off-price retailing to the U.K. and Ireland in 1994 and is the only brick-and-mortar, off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions of significant size in Europe. Homesense started with the off-price homeware concept in the U.K. in 2008, and in Ireland in 2017. 

TJX companies revenue from TJX international accounts for 13.44% of the total revenue in Q2 2022. The revenue grew up from $0.88 billion in Q1 2021 to $1.62 billion in Q2 2022, making an increase of 84.09% ($0.74 billion) in a year. Quarterly, the company achieved a huge growth of 200% from $0.54 billion in Q1 2022 to $1.62 billion in Q2 2022.

It also has four E-commerce sites in the U.S.; Winners, HomeSense ( U.K. and Ireland ) and Marshalls (combined, TJX Canada) in Canada; and T.K. Maxx in the Ireland, U.K., Austria , Germany, Netherlands, Poland and Australia. The company is a leading off-price retailer in fashion products which aims to deliver great value on ever-changing selections of quality, fashionable, brand name, and designer merchandise at prices generally 20% to 60% below full-price retailers. The company was ranked 97th on the 2021 Fortune 500 Companies List of the largest United States corporations by total revenue and has more than 4,500 stores, four e-commerce websites, and approximately 320,000 employees in nine countries.
