During 2020 and 2021, the total store count reduced from 1,509 to 1,450 respectively, mainly due to disruptive supply chains, reduced store traffic, temporary closure of the stores, change in consumer preferences, and significant volatility of financial markets amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, the company’s strategic growth plan led some of the stores to be permanently shut. Coach

Coach operates through its retail and outlet stores, freestanding flagship stores, along with Concession shop-in-shops. In 2021, the total store count of the brand was 939, of which 354 stores were situated only in North America, and the rest 585 stores are situated globally.

  • Flagship Stores: These stores offer a significant expression of the brand and are generally located in densely populated and tourist-heavy cities around the world.
  • Retail Stores: These stores generally manage their assortment of products according to the preferences of customers, along with the size and location of the store.

Kate Spade

Kate Spade operates through its retail and outlet stores, freestanding flagship stores, as well as Concession shop-in-shop locations. Among 407 stores of the brand in 2021, 210 stores were solely attributable to North America, and the rest 197 stores were placed all around the world.

The company changed its name from Coach to Tapestry in October 2017, particularly to represent the wide range of assortment offered by the company.
