Apple
Skyworks has been a historic supplier of Apple and produces radio-related iPhone components. The former supplies a wide range of wireless chips ranging from mobiles, automotive, home automation, wireless infrastructure, and defence related equipment to industrial markets.
Skyworks’ share of the revenue from Apple witnessed a steep incline from $1.42 billion in 2017 to $3.01 billion in 2021. Before 2021, the past four years’ revenue generation from Apple remained in a close range of $1.44 to $1.88 billion. Samsung
Skyworks Solutions is an innovator of analog semiconductors which help in enabling a broad range of electronic markets. Skyworks mainly provides Samsung with analog and front-end solutions for its smartphones. However, it has only managed to generate revenue worth $438.17 million from Samsung (in 2017) in the previous 5 years. From 2018 onwards, Skyworks has not been supplying its products to Samsung and the revenue generated remains $0.
Huawei
In the case of Huawei, Skyworks generated a revenue of $365.14 million only once (in 2017) in the past 5 years. The negative impact on success in Chinese Markets is caused due to the country’s evolving laws and regulations. This includes those relating to taxation, import and export tariffs, and restrictions.
It is also important to highlight the imposition by the United States of tariffs on goods imported from China and other government actions that restricted Skyworks’ ability to sell their products to Chinese customers or to manufacture or source components in China. Moreover, countermeasures imposed by China in response adversely impacted the manufacturing costs, the availability and cost of materials, and the sales of Skyworks’ products in the Chinese market.
