European Union (EU)

EU is headquartered in Lausanne and Switzerland. Philip Morris’ majority of revenue come from the European Union, which contributed to about 39.3% of the total revenue amounting to $3,192 million in Q3 2021. There was an increase of 1.36% in the total revenue compared to Q2 2021 where the revenue generated was $3,149 million.

Europe Eastern (EE)

EE is headquartered in Lausanne. During Q3 2021, EE contributed about 11.6% of the company’s total revenue. There was an increase of 5.14% in the revenue of this region, from $895 million in Q2 2021 to $945 million in Q3 2021.

Middle East & Africa (ME&A)

ME&A is headquartered in Lausanne. The revenue of this region has largely been increased from the previous quarter, marked by $560 million in Q2 2021 to $945 million in Q3 2021, which in terms of percentage is 68.75%.

South & Southeast Asia (S&SA)

S&SA is headquartered in Hong Kong. The revenue from this region grew from $1,046 million in Q2 2021 to $1,065 million in Q3 2021. But, as we compare the revenues from the previous year i.e., Q3 2020, there was a downfall in total revenue by 0.56%. This region overall contributes 13.1% of the company’s total revenue.

East Asia & Australia (EA&A)

EA&A is headquartered in Hong Kong. This region contributed 18.1% of the total revenue of the company in Q3 2021, amounting to $1,523 million. The company marked a slight increase of 0.59% in the revenues of Q2 2021 and Q3 2021.

Latin America & Canada (L&C)

L&C is headquartered in New York. LA&C also includes transactions under license with Altria Group, Inc., for the distribution of Platform 1 products in the United States. It holds 5.6% of the company’s total revenue, amounting to $456 million. The total revenue grew from $400 million in Q3 2020 to $456 million in Q3 2021, marking a 14% growth on a year-on-year basis.

Marlboro, its renowned cigarette brand, was worth nearly $57 billion in 2021.
