Jabil Inc. provides electronic manufacturing services and solutions throughout the world. It was formerly called Jabil Circuit Inc. The company offers electronic design, production, and product management services to companies across various sectors.  The Company serves its customers primarily with business units that combine automated, continuous flow manufacturing with an electronic design for manufacturability. They operate in two segments- Electronica Manufacturing Services and Diversified Manufacturing Services. It is one of the largest companies in the Tampa Bay region. Jabil has around 100 plants in 28 countries. The company’s service ranges from product design and component procurement to order fulfillment, product testing, and supply chain management. They offer both electronic design services and industrial design services. The Company’s business unit provides customers with various services, which include integrated design and engineering, component selection, sourcing and procurement, automated assembly, design and implementation of the product, parallel global production, etc.

Jabil Circuit’s Revenue by Customer

Jabil’s customers are spread across numerous industries, such as healthcare, life sciences, cleaning technology, instrumentation, defense and aeronautics, automotive, computing, storage, consumer products, networking, and telecommunications. Jabil depends on a small number of customers for its revenue. Five customers account for almost 50% of the sales. It’s the major customer is Apple and it accounts for almost 20-25% of Jabil’s total revenue. Other significant customers include Cisco Systems, Dell Technologies, HP Inc., LM Ericsson, General Electric, Ingenico, NetApp, Valeo, and Zebra Technologies. Blackberry was originally a customer of Jabil but they stopped manufacturing for Blackberry after 2013. Apple has been its most consistent customer and made up for 20% of its total revenue in 2013, 18% in 2014, 24% through the next 3 years, 28% in 2018, and 22% in 2019.

Jabil’s revenue for 2019 was around $25.27 billion which was 10% more than the previous year. Revenue has been increasing year on year. Till 2013 Blackberry was one of the significant customers and generated a revenue of about $2 billion for Jabil. Revenue from Apple the same year was $3.45 billion and revenue from other customers was $11.73 billion. After 2013 they stopped serving Blackberry, but revenue from other customers has been increasing constantly. Revenue from Apple went down to $2.84 Billion In 2014 but revenue’s from other customers went up to $12.98 billion. After 2014 revenue from Apple also started growing and rose to $4.30 billion in 2015.

Revenue from other customers in 2015 was $13.06 billion. In 2016 revenue from Apple was $4.40 billion and revenue from other customers was $13.95 billion. Jabil was experiencing slow but steady growth. In 2017 revenue from Apple was about $4.58 billion and revenue from its other customers was $14.49 billion. In 2018 revenue from Apple went up to $6.19 billion and revenue from other customers was $15.91 billion. 2019 saw revenue from Apple drop down a little as compared to the previous year to $5.56 billion, but revenue from other customers grew significantly from the previous year to $19.72 billion.

Jabil’s revenue has been growing rapidly over the last couple of years and is expected to continue this trend into the coming few years. Revenue is estimated to grow by around 10-15% yearly in the next few years.
