FuboTV’s Revenue By Segment

FuboTV’s total revenue increased from $105 million in Q4 2020 to $119.7 million in Q1 2021, marking a growth of 14% on a quarter-on-quarter basis. During this period, the revenues were generated primarily by FuboTV after its merger with FaceBank Group in April 2020. As a result, the revenue generated during this period cannot be compared to the prior year. The growth in the company’s total revenue during this period was driven by the increase in the number of subscriptions. In Q1 2021, FuboTV added more than 43,000 subscribers taking the total number of subscribers to 590,430.

Advertising

FuboTV Advertising revenues declined 3.81% from $13.10 million in Q4 2020 to $12.6 million in Q1 2021. The decline in the advertising segment was seen as advertisers reduced spending on advertisements because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Advertising segment contributed 10.53% to the company’s revenue in Q1 2021. Advertising revenues are collected from advertisers and marketers who want to display their advertisements on the streamed content.

Subscriptions

FuboTV Subscriptions revenues increased 17.17% from $91.40 million Q4 2020 to $107.10 million in Q1 2021. During this period, the Subscriptions segment contributed 89.47% to FuboTV’s total revenue. The company sells its subscriptions through its website fubo.tv and third-party applications.

FuboTV provides its subscribers with a real-time streaming experience by providing live TV channels, sports, news, premium content, and many more at a reasonable price.

FuboTV also acquired the live streaming rights of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) starting from June 3, 2021. The company has also signed distribution agreements with AT&T Sports Network and Marquee Sports Network. FuboTV has also signed contracts with NBA and Major League Basketball to telecast 4K live streaming of basketball games on its platform.

FuboTV offers following packages to its viewers:

  • FuboTV Family: In this package, the company offers 115 channels and 250 hours of DVR recording space at $65 per month.
  • FuboTV Elite: In this package, the company offers 162 channels and 1,000 hours of DVR recording space along with an unlimited number of screens at $80 per month.

Software Licenses and net

Software licenses and net includes the revenues generated from the sale of software licenses through the company’s subsidiary Nexway eCommerce Solutions. FuboTV no longer generates revenue from the Software licenses and net segment as the company sold its Nexway subsidiary in July 2020.

Other

FuboTV generates revenue from Other segments through the contracts signed with the third party to telecast international sporting events. Other segments generated revenue of $0.63 million in Q4 2020. However, the company did not generate revenue from this segment in Q1 2021.
