This statistic highlights AutoDesk’s Recurring Revenue from Q4 2019 onwards, reported a quarterly basis.
Autodesk is a global leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software and services, providing customers with powerful technology products and services that help them run their businesses more efficiently. They work with clients in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction, as well as product design and manufacturing, and digital media and entertainment. Their corporate headquarters are in San Rafael, California, and their executive offices are in San Francisco, California.
The portion of a company’s revenue that is expected to continue in the future is known as recurring revenue. These revenues, unlike one-time sales, are predictable, stable, and can be counted on to occur at regular intervals in the future with a high degree of certainty. Businesses, investors, and analysts pay close attention to the revenue reported on a company’s income statement. Because all expenses and taxes are subtracted from revenues to arrive at net income, the top line determines the bottom line, or profit.
One-time sales or a stream of expected periodic sales can be used to generate revenue. The latter, also known as recurring revenue, is critical for businesses that want to ensure a steady and predictable revenue stream. Companies that receive monthly payments from customers who are locked into long-term contracts that last longer than the current accounting period are examples, as are big name brands that can reasonably expect their popular, market-leading products to remain at the top of consumer shopping lists for years to come.
