ADM’s processed volumes for oilseeds are broken down by product, with soybeans being the most heavily processed, representing more than 60% of the company’s total processing volume. Soybeans are a highly sought-after oilseed, with a wide range of applications in the food and industrial sectors. Corn is ADM’s second-most processed oilseed, making up more than 20% of the company’s total processing. It’s mainly used for sweeteners, starch, and oil, which are used in a lot of different food and industrial products.
Corn
Archer-Daniels-Midland Company is a global leader in corn processing, processing over 44 million tons annually. They produce various corn products, including corn sweeteners, corn starch, corn oil, corn gluten meal, and corn germ meal. Corn sweeteners contain high fructose corn syrup and dextrose, while corn oil is used in various food products, including salad dressings, mayonnaise, cooking oils, and industrial lubricants. Corn gluten meal is a high-protein ingredient in livestock feed, pet food, and bakery items.
Oilseeds
Archer-Daniels-Midland Company is the world’s largest producer of oilseeds, processing more than 100 million tons annually. All of the oilseeds processed by ADM are used to produce oil, meal, hulls, and a variety of other products. The Company operates production facilities at or near capacity, adjusting as needed to respond to margin environment and seasonal supply and demand fluctuations. The increase in oilseed volume in the current quarter is mainly due to improved crush rates, compared to lower rates in the previous quarter due to unplanned logistics and staffing issues. Sunflower, peanuts, safflower, and other oilseeds are also processed by the company.
