The production has been subject to various fluctuations, as seen in the table. In 2020, a total of 6,94,000 boepd were produced overall. In 2021, there were 6,79,000 boepd produced, a decrease of 2.16%. Additionally, production in 2022 went up by 4.5% from the previous year to 7,09,500 boepd.
Colombia:
Ecopetrol S.A. manages its production operations in Colombia through a regional organization, which comprises a total of 82 oil fields with active production in 2022 in four regions: (i) Central Region, (ii) Orinoquía Region, (iii) Andina Oriente Region, and (iv) Piedemonte Region. Additionally, Company operates 73 fields with active production through associated operations with different partners.
With 93.4% of the company’s production, it is the highest-producing region in 2022. A total of 672500 boepd were produced in 2020. 648600 units were produced in 2021, a decrease of 3.56%. In addition, production increased to 662400 boepd in 2022, up 2.12% from the previous year.
International:
The subsidiaries’ production outside Colombia came mainly from Ecopetrol America LLC and Ecopetrol Permian LLC.
In 2022, international region-based production is increased to 6.6%. The number of units produced in this region increased by 41.4% between 2020 and 2021, from 21500 to 30400. Additionally, in 2022, this region’s production grew to 47100 units, an incredible 55% increase.
