Introduction
Teradyne is a developer and supplier of automatic test equipment (ATE) based out of the United States. The company designs, develops and sells test systems used to test semiconductors, wireless products, data storage and complex electronic systems. They serve customers in segments like electronics, wireless, automation, industrial communications and aerospace and defense industries. It operates through the following segments – semiconductor test, system test, storage test, wireless test and industrial automation test. In 2019 the company started selling robots which includes universal robots and mobile industrial robots.

Defence and Aerospace
The revenue from defense and aerospace was $20.14 million in the first quarter of 2018. In the second quarter it amounted to $23.12 million. $23.27 million in Q3 and $26.20 million in Q4. In 2019 the revenue went up to $22.77 million in the first quarter. It was $25.28 million in the second quarter. Q3 amounted to $30.28 million.
Memory Segment
Revenue from Memory segment was $72.56 million in the first quarter of 2018. It was $66.56 million in the second quarter. Q3 amounted to $86.89 million and $47.46 million in the fourth quarter. The revenue from memory increased in 2019 to $48.05 million in the first quarter. And, $58.29 million in the second quarter, $71.97 million in the third quarter and $87.83 million by the end of the year. Finally, revenue for the first quarter of 2020 was $84.35 million.
Board Test
Revenue from production board test stood at $10.94 million in the first quarter of 2018 and then went on to $13.30 million in the second quarter, $14.31 million in the third quarter and $18.20 million in the fourth quarter. Consequently, revenue increased to $15.20 million in the first quarter of 2019, $14.44 million in the second quarter and $16.60 million in the third quarter.
SOC
Revenue from SOC was $300.77 million in the first quarter of 2018, $293.53 million in the second quarter, $330.41 million in the third quarter and $294.24 million in the fourth quarter. The same went on to $292.81 million in the first quarter of 2019, $316.61 million in the second quarter, $325.77 million in the third quarter and $351.26 million by the end of the year. Revenue from this segment reached $400.14 million in the first quarter of 2020.
Shortage Test Systems
Revenue from shortage test systems was $11.93 million in the first quarter of 2018, $33.26 million in the second quarter, $12.03 million in the third quarter and $9.43 million in the last quarter. In 2019 storage system revenue increased to $20.25 million in the first quarter, $33.69 million in the second quarter, and $26.42 million in the third quarter.
Wireless Test Systems
Revenue from wireless test systems was $22.51 million in the first quarter of 2018, $35.21 million in the second quarter, $34.30 million in the third quarter and $39.98 million in the fourth quarter. The revenue increased to $29.04 million in the first quarter of 2019, $41.24 million in the second quarter, $42.26 million in the third quarter and $44.77 million by the end of the year. Consequently, revenue then increased to $43.49 million in the first quarter of 2020.
