The company generates revenue through the sale of products in different regions with two main operating and reportable segments: automotive and energy generation and storage.

The automotive segment includes end-to-end process for electric vehicles such as design, development, sales and leasing along with sales of automotive regulatory credits. Additionally, it is also comprised of services and other, which includes non-warranty after-sales vehicle services, sales of used vehicles, retail merchandise, and sales by our acquired subsidiaries to third party customers. The energy generation and storage segment comprises of the design, manufacture, installation, sales, and leasing of solar energy generation and energy storage products.

United States contributes to nearly half of the total revenue generated by the company from operations in different segments and regions. However, this region reported a steep 39% decline in revenue for the months ended September 30,2019 compared to the same period in 2018.

China mainland contributing nearly 10.61% of the total revenue reported a whopping 63.5% increase compared to the same period in 2018. All the other regions also reported an increase in revenue generation compared to 2018.

In certain areas, the revenues were impacted by the price adjustments the company made to its vehicle offerings during the nine months period ended September 30,2019.
