It is the first foundry to offer 7 and 5-nanometre production capabilities (as utilised by the 2020 apple A14 and M1 SoCs), as well as the first to commercialise extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography technology in large quantities. TSMC has a long list of customers, including AMD, Apple, ARM, Broadcom, Marvell, MediaTek, and Nvidia. TSMC’s foundry services were also used by leading programmable logic device companies Xilinx and Altera earlier. TSMC’s foundry business model has aided the growth of the global fabless industry, and the company has been the world’s leading semiconductor foundry since its establishment.
