The total revenue has been rather inconsistent through the passing quarters. From the above-given timeline, revenue appears to have peaked in Q1 2022 at $664.481 million. The previous quarter recorded a revenue of $359.539 million which grew by a massive 84.81% on a quarterly basis, between Q4 2021 and Q1 2022. The revenue in Q1 2021 stood at $645.584 million and grew on year-over-year by a mere 2.93%.

This growth can be owed to the strength in product demand in spite of lower promotional activity along with the continuing impact of restricted product availability because of supply chain challenges spanning the entire industry. The company calculates its constant currency growth percentages by translating financial results of a prior period using the current period average currency exchange rate and comparing said amounts to the current period’s results that are reported.

Americas

This region has consistently been the greatest revenue contributor for Sonos. This implies that Americas bears the company’s largest portion of consumers. The revenue contributed was the maximum in Q1 2022, standing at $373.813 million, thereby constituting a major 56.26% of the quarterly total. The revenue recorded in the preceding quarter was rather modest at $196.034 million. It marked a quarter-on-quarter growth of 90.69%, from Q4 2021 to Q1 2022. The year-on-year growth from $367.239 million in Q1 2021 to $373.813 million in Q1 2022 was only 1.79%. Though Q1 2022 recorded the greatest amount of revenue collected, revenue mix i.e. proportion of revenue contributed was the highest in Q1 2021 at 56.88%. The revenue mix for Q4 2021 stood at 54.52% of the respective quarterly total.

EMEA

The Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region is the second-highest revenue-contributing region for Sonos. On average, this region has contributed approximately 37% to the total revenue over the quarters. The highest revenue recorded was in Q1 2022, standing at $245.482 million, which comprised 36.94% of the total quarterly revenue. The year-on-year revenue growth from $240.007 million in Q1 2021 to $245.482 million in Q1 2022 was much less significant as compared to the aforementioned quarterly growth. The yearly growth stood at 2.28%. Though Q4 2021’s revenue was the lowest out of the above-mentioned quarterly timeline, its revenue mix was the highest at 38.36% of the quarterly total. Q1 2021’s revenue proportion was 37.18% of the respective quarterly total.

Asia Pacific

The lowest of the three regions, Asia Pacific’s (APAC) contribution to the total revenue was the highest in Q1 2022 as it grossed $45.186 million, which was 6.8% of the total quarterly revenue. As also seen in the previous regions, Q4 2021 was the lowest revenue-grossing quarter from the above timeline. APAC recorded a revenue of $25.57 million in the said quarter, which grew quarterly by 76.72% till the subsequent quarter. This quarter-on-quarter growth was the lowest from that of all three regions for the same period. APAC’s yearly growth from $38.338 million Q1 2021 to $45.186 million in Q1 2022 was 17.86%.
