The Company always makes an effort to penetrate untapped markets and diversify its consumer base in an attempt to make new and stronger markets and itineraries throughout the world. They have even developed new and attractive itineraries and resumed their operations post the pandemic on a staggered basis and in consideration of local restrictions.

North America

Royal Caribbean’s North America itineraries include the cruise itineraries in the regions – U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. For Q3 2021, Royal Caribbean reported an increase of 230% in the revenue generated from this region. Even on a YoY basis, there was an increase of 2471%. North America generated the most revenue of any geographic region for Q3 2021.

Europe

Royal Caribbean’s Europe itinerary includes cruises in the Nordic countries, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the U.K. For Q3 2021, the company recorded an increase of 284%. However, they did not report any revenue for Europe for Q3 2020, displaying the devastating impact of the pandemic on the cruise business in this region. It is to be noted that before the pandemic, there is a certain pattern in the revenue generated. In this region, there is no revenue generated in Q1, followed by two consecutive increases and then a decline in Q4.

Asia Pacific

These itineraries include cruises in Singapore, Thailand, India, Australia, the Philippines, China, Japan, and other nearby countries. On a QoQ basis, the company reported an increase of 17% in the revenue generated. Even on a YoY basis, there was an increase of 758% in the revenue generated. Even in this region, there is a certain trend in the revenue generated before the pandemic. In Q1 the highest revenue is generated followed by steep falls in the next two quarters and then again a spike in Q4, however, lower than Q1.

Other regions

The regions other than the above categories are included here. It reported an increase of 350% on a QoQ basis. Even on a YoY basis, there was an increase of 30% in the revenue generated. This is the lowest YoY increase as compared to other regions, as only this region contributed revenue in Q3 2020.
