What is Average Revenue Per User (ARPU)

The earnings generated per user or unit are measured by the average revenue per unit (ARPU). The average revenue per unit (ARPU) is a measurement of a product’s profitability based on the amount of money earned on each of its users or subscribers. Management examines the ARPU figure to see which products or business segments are performing well and which are underperforming.

It’s a particularly valuable metric for organizations that rely on customers or users in the telecoms and media industries. Total income divided by the number of units, users, or subscribers is how ARPU is computed. The average revenue per user is another term for it.
