Mopping

Braava is an iRobot Floor Mopping Robot that works on any hard-surface floors. For moist or dry cleaning, Braava employs disposable or microfiber cleaning cloths. Until 2013, the design was known as the Mint. It was created by Evolution Robotics, which was bought by iRobot in 2012.

iRobot’s Number of Units Shipped decreased from 0.241 million units in Q4 2020 to 0.177 million units in Q4 2021, marking a decline of 26.55% on a year-on-year basis. On a quarterly basis, there was an increase, from 0.164 million in Q3 2021 to 0.177 million units in Q4 2021, making an increment of 7.92%. The Mopping segment contributes 10.68% to the total number of units shipped by the company in the latest quarter, standing at 0.177 million units in Q4 2021.

Roomba is an automated vacuum cleaning robot that was initially introduced in 2002. Roomba is powered by a rechargeable battery, and many models come with a docking station to which the Roomba should return at the end of its cleaning cycle to recharge. They work in conjunction with accessories that use both infrared and radiofrequency. In 2015, iRobot debuted the Roomba 980, an improved Roomba with a camera that maps out a room of its objects. The camera employs VSlam technology to map out a space and the things within it to clean a whole home’s floor. The Roomba 980 also has a Carpet boost, which increases suction when the Roomba sensor detects it on carpets or rugs. This Roomba was also one of the first to have Wi-Fi connectivity and app control. Customers are allowed to hack the robot on purpose since the corporation wants users to explore and improve the product. The serial API has been published, and the serial port has been made freely available, making it simple to make changes.

iRobot’s Number of Units Shipped rose from 1.95 million units in Q4 2020 to 1.48 million units in Q4 2021, marking a downfall of 24.1% on a year-on-year basis. However, on a quarterly basis, it increased by 7.25%, from 1.38 million units shipped in Q3 2021. to 1.48 million units shipped in Q4 2021. The vacuum segment contributes 89.32% to the total number of units shipped by iRobot, amounting to 1.48 million units in Q4 2021.
