Indirect

The company employs business consultants, resale and logistics partners to assist in their sales efforts, primarily in new regions for Infinera whereby these partners have deep knowledge of typical business practices and strong relationships with key local operators. Infinera Corporation expects to work with its business partners to assist their customers in the sale, deployment, and maintenance of Infinera’s systems and enter into distribution and resale agreements to facilitating the sale and support of the company’s products.

Indirect sales contributed 18% of the total revenue of the company during Q1 2021. The company has filled over 2000 patents in fields including optical transport and the virtualization of optical bandwidth. Infinera’s business strategy has been based upon introducing leading-edge speeds, initially with 10 Gb/second, and as of 2013, 100 Gb/second and 500 Gb/second based upon Superchannels (or combining channels).
