Personal Systems

Personal Systems sells desktop and notebook PCs, workstations, thin clients, commercial mobility devices, retail POS systems, displays and peripherals, software, support, and services to businesses and consumers. When describing performance in these markets, HP Inc divides commercial PCs into commercial notebooks, commercial desktops, commercial services, commercial mobility devices, commercial detachable and convertibles, workstations, retail POS systems, and thin clients, and consumer notebooks, consumer desktops, consumer services, and consumer detachable PCs. Both commercial and consumer PCs employ multi-operating systems, multi-architecture methods, with Microsoft Windows and Google Chrome as the primary operating systems, and Intel Corporation and Advanced Micro Devices Inc as the primary processor vendors.

The total revenue generated from this segment has been on an increase. The revenue increased by 3.39% on a quarter-on-quarter basis, from $11.80 million in Q4 2021 to $12.20 million in Q1 2022. The year-on-year growth was 15.09% when compared to Q1 2021, where the revenue generated was $10.60 million. This segment contributes majority of HP’s revenue, accounting for 71.86% of the total revenue generated by the company in Q1 2022.

Printing

Consumer and business printer gear, materials, services, and solutions are available in HP’s Printing segment. Graphics and 3D imaging solutions are also a focus of the printing segment in the commercial and industrial markets.  SMBs and large organizations can get HP office printers, consumables, services, and solutions through Office Printing Solutions. It also contains various Samsung-branded supplies as well as original equipment manufacturer (“OEM”) hardware and solutions. Home Printing Solutions uses both HP’s ink and laser technologies to provide innovative printing products, supplies, services, and solutions for home, home business, and micro-business customers. There are also some Samsung-branded supplies included. Through a diverse spectrum of printers and presses, Graphics Solutions provides print service providers and packaging converters with large-format, commercial, and industrial solutions and supplies (HP DesignJet, HP Latex, HP Indigo, and HP PageWide Web Presses).

The revenue generated from this segment has been on a decline. The revenue decreased by 4.17% on a year-on-year basis, from $5.04 billion in Q1 2021 to $4.83 billion in Q1 2022. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the revenue witnessed a fall of 1.02%, from $4.88 billion in Q4 2021 to $4.83 billion in Q1 2022. The contribution to the total revenue generated by the company also fell from 32.23% in Q1 2021 to just 28.38% in Q3 2021.

Corporate Investments

HP Labs, as well as certain business incubation and investment projects, are included under the Corporate Investments segment.

The corporate investment segment generated a revenue of $0.001 billion in Q1 2022, indicating a 50% decline on a quarter-on-quarter basis, from the Q4 2021, where the revenue generated from this segment amounted to $0.002 billion. On a year-on-year basis, the revenue increased from $0 in Q1 2021 to $0.001 billion in Q1 2022. The contribution to the total revenue also fell from 11.99% in Q4 2021 to 5.88% in Q1 2022.

Others

This segment includes incomes not mentioned in the above segments. Rather than generating revenue, this segment has incurred expenses in Q1 2021 and Q4 2021 worth $0.001 billion. The segment did not incur any expenses in Q1 2022. This segment contributes 0% to the the total revenue of HP in Q1 2022.
