(All figures are in millions, except percentages)

The two revenue segments of DraftKings are explained below:

B2B (Business-to-Business)

The B2B business is primarily comprised of the operations of SBTech, which the company acquired on April 23, 2020. B2B segment’s principal activities involve the design and development of sports betting and casino gaming software. B2B services are delivered through DraftKing’s proprietary software, and complementary service offerings include trading, risk management, customer management, and regulatory reporting requirements.

B2C (Business-to-Consumer)

The B2C business comprises the legacy business of DraftKings Inc., which includes DFS, Sports-book, and gaming product offerings. Across these principal offerings, they offer users a single integrated product that provides one account, one wallet, and a centralized payment system that is responsible for all gaming controls. Currently, they are operating the B2C segment primarily in the United States.

While revenue from the B2B business has significantly decreased from $29.19 million in Q3 2020 to $23.73 million in Q3 2021 at a rate of 21%, there has been an increase in revenue from the B2C business from $103.65 million in Q3 2020 to $270.17 million in Q2 2021.

Q2 2021 was an exceptional quarter for the growth of B2C revenue, marking an all-time high of $270 million, while the total earnings stood at $297 million. Followed by this quarter, the revenue again dropped down to $189.09 in Q3 2021 at a rate of 79%. The B2B business has contributed 11% to the revenue share in Q3 2021, whereas the B2C business has contributed 89%, with a revenue share of $23 million and $189 million respectively.

It clearly shows that the majority of the revenue share of DraftKings comes from the B2C business. The statistics tell us that the company is mostly focussing on the B2C segment while keeping operations from the B2B segment running in the background. The overall revenue of the company also grew from $132.84 in Q3 2020 to $297.61 in Q2 2021. The revenue dropped again in the latest quarter, Q3 2021.
