Desktop Metal currently ships its product to markets in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

On a QoQ basis, Desktop Metal’s total revenue increased by 34.1%. This was due to an increase in unit shipments in all regions across a more varied product mix and additional revenue in connection with acquisitions. Even on a YoY basis, the total revenue increased 10 times as compared to Q3 2020. Overall, this growth was due to an increased customer demand in 2021 as compared to 2020, wherein the demand had lowered, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the reason why there is a huge jump in the revenue, especially on a YoY basis and hence we see an exponential increase in the total revenue.

The Company’s operations are principally based in the United States. This region generated the highest revenue for the company in each quarter during 2021. Of the total revenue generated from this region, in Q3 2021 Desktop Metal generated 94% from supplying its products and the remaining from the services it provides. The remaining 15% of the revenue comes from the services it provides. On a QoQ basis, the revenue from this region increased by 29.1%. Even on a YoY basis, there was an increase of 101% in the revenue generated from this region.

APAC

APAC stands for the Asia Pacific region. This region contributes the lowest revenue for the Company. Of the total revenue in Q3 2021, 90% came from supplying its products and the remaining from providing services. Only this region reported a fall in the revenue on a QoQ basis, with a decline of 55.6% in the revenue generated. However, on a YoY basis, there was an increase of 81.6% in the revenue generated.
