With each passing quarter, the revenue generated by Baidu Inc goes on increasing. Baidu Core (RMB)

Baidu Core primarily consists of search plus feed, which includes Baidu App, short video products, and knowledge & information products, such as Baidu Knows, Baidu Wiki, and Baidu Post. Online marketing services, referred to as “mobile ecosystem,” and new AI businesses, such as DuerOS (voice assistant and smart devices), Baidu Cloud (AI solutions and cloud services), and Apollo (AI solutions and cloud services) (autonomous driving and smart transportation) are also included in this segment. It offers to search other services on the Baidu platform that connect users to relevant information online, including web pages, news, images, documents, multimedia files, and services, through links provided on the website, apps and skills store, as well as native-app like experiences via Smart Mini Program.

The share of this segment has been gradually increasing in the revenue mix. The contribution increased from 75.74% to 76.68% from Q3 2020 to Q2 2021. It further increased to 77.23% as of Q3 2021. The revenue in this segment has also been continuously increasing quarter on quarter.The revenue in this segment increased 12.5%  from Q3 2020 to Q2 2021. In absolute terms, the revenue surged to $24.04 billion from $21.38 billion. A marginal uptick of 2.6% on a quarter-on-quarter basis was also witnessed from $24.04 billion in Q2 2021 to $24.66 billion in Q3 2021. On a yearly basis, the revenue from this segment saw an increment of 15.34%.

Inter-segment Adjustments (RMB)

The company has made some adjustments within the RMB segments. The inter-segment adjustment increased from a negative of $0.34 billion in Q3 2020 to a negative of $0.30 billion in Q2 2021. The adjustment then decreased to a negative of $0.33 billion in Q3 2021, showing a decrease of 10% quarterly. On a yearly basis, the revenue slightly increased by 2.9%, from negative $0.34 billion in Q3 2020 to negative $0.33 billion.

iQIYI (RMB)

In China, iQIYI is a market-leading online entertainment service provider. The average mobile MAUs and DAUs for iQIYI in 2019 were 476 million and 140 million, respectively. During the year, users spent an average of 9.6 billion hours per month watching video material on the iQIYI platform across all devices, and 1.6 hours per day watching video content on its mobile apps. iQIYI creates and organizes a wide range of different video content in various forms.Original and licensed material are the mainstays of iQIYI’s PPC.

The share of this segment has been gradually falling in the revenue mix. The contribution plummeted from 25.5% to 24.3% from Q3 2020 to Q2 2021. It further reduced to 23.8%, as of Q3 2021. The revenue in this segment increased 5.8% from Q3 2020 to Q2 2021. A marginal decline of 0.2% on a quarterly basis was witnessed from Q2 2021 to Q3 2021. On a yearly basis, the revenue increased by 5.7%, from $7.19 billion in Q3 2020 to $7.60 billion in Q3 2021.
