Aurora Cannabis: Non-cannabis revenue

Aurora Cannabis mainly operates in the Cannabis segment that involves support activities like patient counseling services, design, analytical testing services, engineering, and consulting services, etc. Non-cannabis revenue segment includes revenue from patient referrals and construction consulting services provided to consumers. Also, this segment includes revenue from using non-cannabis plants. As per the recent revenue trend, Aurora generated about 61% of revenue from Cannabis products whereas Aurora Cannabis 33% in the last quarter of FY19.

Cannabis and Non-cannabis products

Cannabis is a psychoactive drug that is also known as ‘marijuana’. The cannabis plant is used for recreational and medicinal purposes. Also, cannabis can be used in cigarettes, foods, for vaporizing and as an extract. Uses of cannabis do not end in recreational and medicinal drugs, it may also be used for spiritual purposes. Non-cannabis are plants that do not have cannabis element but has cannabinoids, which makes it similar to cannabis. Some of the known cannabis plants are Echinacea, Electric daisy, Chocolate, Black pepper, and many others. Most of these non-cannabis plants have similar characteristics as cannabis plants. These plants regulate the immune system and reduce the inflammatory response in our bodies. Also, they act as a strong painkilling agent and treats bronchitis as well as bladder problems.
