Apple’s revenue growth for the last three years from before 2021 is 9.6% which overperforms the Industry average by 0.9% while last year’s revenue growth is almost double compared to the Industry growth. The Covid-19 pandemic did not affect much on Apple’s revenue as compared to its peers.

An interesting fact about Apple’s revenue every year from 2015 is that the Q1 revenue every year is very high compared to the revenues from the other 3 quarters. The main reason behind it is the festival season. Christmas is one of the biggest festivals, where people do a lot of shopping, resulting in massive sales contributing a huge amount to its revenue towards the first quarter.

Apple’s revenue crossed the benchmark of $100 billion in Q1 2021.

  • Mac: Mac’s are Apple’s personalized computers based on macOS operating system. Mac’s account for 9% of Apple’s share in revenue which has generated a revenue of $17.77 billion in the year 2021. Mac’s are consistently giving more or less the same revenue every year.
  • iPhone: iPhones are Apple’s smartphones working on the iOS operating system. iPhone sales accounted for over half of Apple’s revenue in the year 2021. iPhone alone contributed $ 113.53 billion in FY 2021 till now. iPhone is the most selling product for Apple and every year it has accounted for a major portion of Apple’s revenue from FY 2016 to 2021. They have also come up with 5G technology for the latest iPhone 12 series launched in the year 2020.
  • iPad: iPad’s are multipurpose tablets by Apple working on iPadOS operating system. iPad generated a revenue of $16.24 billion in the year 2021 which is about 8% of the total revenue share for the year. For the first time after 2015, iPad sales in a single quarter crossed the mark of $10 billion in Q4 of 2020.
  • Services: Apple’s services raised total revenue of $32.66 billion in FY 2021. It accounts for 16% of Apple’s revenue. Revenue from services in Q1 2015 was $4.8 Billion while the revenue in Q2 2021 is $16.9 billion which shows an increase of more than 2.5 times from 2015 to 2021. Apple’s services include advertisement, Applecare, Cloud Services, Digital Content, and Payment Services.
  • Other sources: Revenue from other sources sums up to $20.8 billion for FY 2021, accounting for 10% of the total revenue share. Initially, revenue from other sources was just $10.07 billion for the year 2015 but now in Q1 2021 alone has generated a profit of $12.97 billion. This includes products like Apple Watch, Apple TV, AirPods, HomePod, and other Apple-branded and third-party accessories. Apple Air tags are the most recent addition.
