This statistic highlights Airbus’ Deliveries by Segment, reported on a quarterly basis from Q1 2016 onwards.
Airbus SE is a company based out of Netherlands that is engaged in the producing and distributing products in the aerospace and defense industry. Airbus is registered in the Netherlands but it’s shares are traded in France, Germany and Spain. The company’s business can be divided into three categories – Airbus, Defense and space and Helicopters. Airbus is one of the largest airline manufacturers in the world and the largest in the turbine helicopter industry in terms of deliveries.
The Airbus segment focuses on the development, manufacturing, marketing and sale of commercial aircrafts, aircraft components and aircraft conversion and related services. The following is Airbus Deliveries by Segment
The Airbus helicopters segment specializes in the development, manufacturing, marketing and sale of military and civil helicopters along with helicopter related services. The Airbus defense and space segment produces military combat aircrafts, training aircrafts, defense electronics, global security market solutions and missiles.
Deliveries in the helicopter segment were 56 units in the first quarter. And, 107 units in the second quarter. Q3 and Q4 showed 95 units and 160 units respectively. The number of helicopters delivered in 2017 were 78 units in the first quarter. And 112 units in the second quarter. There were 76 units and 143 units in the last two quarters respectively. Number of helicopters delivered reduced in 2018 to 52 units in the first quarter. And, 89 units in the second quarter. It showed 77 units in the Q3 and 138 units in Q4. Number of deliveries declined further to 46 units in the first quarter. 97 units in the second quarter and 66 units by the end of the third quarter.
Deliveries in the Airbus aircrafts segment were 125 units in the first quarter of 2016. And, 173 units in the second quarter. It showed 164 units in the third quarter and 226 units by the end of the last quarter. Number of aircraft deliveries increased in 2017 to 136 units in the first quarter. And, 170 units in the second quarter. Q3 and Q4 showed 148 units and 264 units respectively. Aircraft deliveries further increased in 2018 to 121 units in the first quarter, 182 units in the second quarter, 200 units in the third quarter and 297 units by the end of the year. Number of aircrafts deliveries continued to increase into 2019 and went up to 162 units in the first quarter. Then declined to 84 units in the second quarter before increasing exponentially to 325 units by the end of the third quarter.

The number of helicopters delivered has been decreasing over the years, but the good thing is that the number of aircrafts delivered which is their major segments has been increasing constantly over the years. Number of helicopters delivered went from 418 units in 2016 to 356 units in 2018 whereas the number of aircrafts delivered increased from 686 units in 2016 to 800 units in 2018. Airbus is one of the biggest brands when it comes to the aircraft industry and faces competition from just one more major player which is Boeing.
