On June 15, 2020 Accenture (NYSE: CAN) announced that it signed an agreement to acquire Sentelis which is an independent data consulting and engineering firm. There was no disclosure of financial details by the firm. Sentelis will complement its focus on aiding customers develop the right data strategy and foundation to industrialize data across their businesses.
Sentelis is a France based company started in 2011 involved in designing data and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. Sentelis handles over 50 skilled employees that involve data and AI advisors, engineers, and architects who will also become a part of Accenture Applied intelligence. From the very start in 2011, Sentelis has helped many clients that included some of the major French companies, architect, engineer and scale adapted and safeguards data centric architecture, allowing them to speed up business innovations.
Accenture is hoping the industry experience of Sentelis in retail and financial services when associated with its AI learning engineering expertise will allow it to build and deliver highly differentiated end-to-end services to the European market. The acquisition is expected to empower Accenture’s analytics, AI and ML/data engineering business mainly in France. Olivier Girard, market unit lead of Accenture France and Benelux mentioned that the solid technical talent of Sentelis’ teams brought together with Accenture’s AI and big data solutions and deep industry expertise, would be a major opportunity to expand and strengthen their potential to facilitate clients scale AI across their businesses.
Adding to the organically growing talent, Accenture’s strategic approach to acquisition is designed to make sure that the right capabilities are in position to meet the existing as well as new client needs with speed and scale. Together the acquisition will be able to help broader range customers to industrialize innovation in data strategy and AI.
